COVID-19 cases in the US soar for the first time since August.

According to information from worldometers.info, the United States is now averaging 48,620 new coronavirus cases per day which was the highest average since August 18. This marks a record-high for the first time since August. (Ref: https://worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/)

A total of 54,639 new positive testing cases of COVID-19 were recorded and released on Saturday, October 10, 2020. This is an increase of 12 percent from 2 weeks earlier.Now these are COVID-19 cases that have undoubtedly hit in the US that we know about. These 54,639 new cases bring the number of cases in the US to higher than 7.7 million. Only four US counties reported 0 cases of the coronavirus.

NBC News reports 214,100 is the national death toll. There have been 214,100 deaths resulting from COVID-19. Coronavirus cases in the US remain above 50,000 because government officials do not have plans in place to fight off or handle this deadly virus.
