Mixerr Album Reviews #2,273

The songs off of the album Marques Callaway - After Hours are sung in a tune and harmony reminiscent of Marvin Gaye, Little Richard, and Sam Cook. Marques Callaway chose to use contemporary sounds such as hip hop, rap, and techno to the mix. Both men and women will wet themselves when hear his vocals and singing. Don't underestimate his singing as he sings slow and thick. You have calming sultry love ballads such as Dramafied and Eyeballing on the album.

The downside is that he uses autotune and tries hard to be a rapper even though he is a singer. Marques Callaway is such a great singer to the point where he does not need to even think about using autotune in any of his songs. Marques Callaway and autotune do not mix. He tries too hard to be a rapper when he is a singer. That is evident on songs such as Bring It Back, She Talking Bout It, Gone Ahead, Vodka's Talking, Inst@gr@m F@cebook, and My Lucky. He seemed to reinvented his image to be a rap singer.

Marques sings about how he had some real bad and needs a lucky lady on My Lucky. My Lucky uses urban rap sounds mixed with soulful singing. My Lucky samples Fat Pat - Heart Of A Hustler. Honestly the urban rap sounds and beats don’t fit in well with his singing. He could do without the sample too.

Marques had some real bad luck today. He lost $1,000 dollars. He does not know what he will if he gets his money back. He asks this lady to be the lucky one. People don’t really want to see them together. She is all that he knows and is always by his side. Nobody is going to take anything away from Marques. She has to be the lucky one. That’s all he wants.

Dramafied is one of the more calming sultry songs off the album. He hits those harmonies, riffs, and runs perfectly. The synths and chords make this song relaxing and harmonious. Dramafied Marques wants a perfect day with his lady. He wants a perfect day with arguing on the phone or any other drama. This lady is dramafied and uptight. He tells her clearly that she does not need to be so dramafied.

Marques wants a perfect day. He tells his lady, “Let’s make today a good day. No arguing on the phone. No heresay. Just me and you chilling like we used to. Go out and hit the scene. And do what we wanna do.”

Nobody said he saw her ex at the club. He was never cheating on her as he doesn’t have another lover. He didn’t give her his number. He said to her, “Baby, let’s chill. No social networking. I only want to be with you. And the only networking is his body working on you.” Wine is what he brought over to her house. He tells her, “I belong to you, baby. You ain’t gotta be so dramafied.”

She does not need to trip or go there with him. He tells her clearly that she does not need to be so dramafied. Marques will do anything for her. He just wants her to get back to the passionate loving. He just wants her to go back to the passionate love they use to share and have. She still turns him on.

Vodka's Talking deals Marques encounter with his ex-girlfriend at a club.

It’s 5 o’clock and Marques is up to no good during afterhours at a club. He should have gone home by now. He had seen his ex-girlfriend looking so damn fine. She grabbed his hand asked him to be hers. He said no. Next thing you know her hands are on his chest. They don’t like each other. It’s the vodka talking.

Marques cheated on his new girlfriend who loves him dearly to no end. Now he should be ashamed. They had sex. They never really talked but they texted. There is no excuse for his behavior. He ensures that this will surely never happen again. He regrets this. The excuse was the vodka talking.

I Love You explores Marques unconditional love to his lady. Their love is unbreakable.

Nobody can break their love. Don’t believe what anybody else says. He loves her. He clearly thinks about her. Their love is unbreakable. His lady is grown, sexy, and independent. She doesn’t need anybody in her business. He can see that she a loyal woman. She is not a cheater.

Can’t nobody can break their love. Don’t believe what anybody else says. He loves her. Their love is unbreakable. His lady is the definition of beauty queen. She is looking so damn fine. She is the hottest thing he has ever seen. Just like in his dreams. Nobody can change their love or rearrange their love. Marques loves everything she does. She will forever be his baby.

Marques does a sensual and sexual interpretation of “show and tell” on the song I Can Show Ya. There are some things that he cannot explain to her but can show her.

He can show her better than he can tell her. He has some things that he cannot explain to her. He wants her and only her. She is the only one for him.

She says she does not love him. Marques tries so hard to satisfy and please her. Nothing he ever does is good enough for her. He will shut down any insecurities she may have about him. He can show her better than he can tell her. What is there not to understand? She calls him on his lunch break to tell him that she needs him. Her body is shaking but she doesn’t have a seizure. This could be love. He is down for her.

Inst@gr@m F@cebook is a song about social media networking that the modern audience can relate to. The song uses modernized drill beats, an electronic sound, and an urban sound.

When this lady posts her pictures up on Instagram and Facebook, she receives 100,000 likes. She gets 100,000 likes per post on Instagram and Facebook. She posts statuses at the club, grocery store, gym. Any place possible that you can think off. You bet your sweet ass that she twerks also. Posing for the camera is what turns her on. So expect selfies. She has 100,000 fans. She is a social media expert.

One day she hit Marques on his twitter account and they both had a conversation. However their exchange was pretty short. They agree to meet 12 o’’clock during noon.

Tattoos and breasts are what she shows off. She’s got them legs and that ass. She knows what to show off as she is a social media expert. A Lisa Rae complexion is what she has. Her lip gloss is popping. She can cook as she knows her way around the kitchen.

Eyeballing is a calming love ballad which is backed by an acoustic guitar. It is refreshing to hear actual instrumentation on songs instead of processed or filtered instrumentation. Calming and soulful are two word to describe this song. What stands out about this song is the single acoustic guitar playing peacefully in the background.

I rate this album 4/5****.
