Mixerr Album Reviews #2,272

The rap Steven King of Sacramento has released yet another great project called Torment EP for 2019. You can expect to hear the siccmade gory horrorcore rap on this album from the rap Steven King called Brotha Lynch Hung. So expect things be eerie, disturbing, and dark. His lyrical skills have not fallen off yet now that he is back in the game. The lyrics are smooth and on point as one would expect from the darkest storytellers in the rap game. However the beats and style sound mainstream. Why does Lynch's music sound like everyone else's? It is sad to see Lynch fall into modernization. This EP is not exactly his best work.

Brotha Lynch Hung seemed to have been inspired by the works of House Of Torment. The EP is quite similar to his 2013 album Mannibal Lector in terms of sound, tone, mood, theme, and style. Which is why you can see a hockey mask on the cover.

This EP serves as an appetizer to hold down and satisfy fans while they wait for the Kevlar album to be completed and released. This EP serves as an appetizer for fans as they wait for all great things to come. Brotha Lynch Hung intended to hold fans over with this release as he records and produces other music. Brotha Lynch Hung seems to be taking proteges under his wing on his label MadeSicc such as Dalima and Tanqueray Locc.

The Torment EP is a MadeSicc project and was his second digital EP for the 2010s era that was released in 2019. The rap Steven King of Sacramento nom de plume Brotha Lynch Hung decided to make the Torment EP a digital download only. There are no physical copies for this release. So vinyl heads and tape heads will be disappointed.

Now this EP sadly went under the radar and have been better promoted by MadeSicc Muzicc. MadeSicc Muzicc could have done a lot more to promote and advertise this EP as many people seemed to have slept his EP. The Torment EP seems to have hardly gotten any promotion at all. Even on the internet. The Torment EP was less promoted than his Bullet Maker album.

The Torment EP starts off with an interviewer who is interviewing Ted Bundy. The intro is a confession from Ted Bundy. Below is what was said during the interview.

[Intro: Interviewer & Ted Bundy]
He didn't want anybody to know who he was talking about.
So his idea was that.
The best thing would be for him to write down the name.
And he would show it to me.
Yeah, and then I'll just write the name down for you.
Alright.
The name that I just wrote down was Georgann Hawkins.
Can you hear that?
I can hear that
Okay, I just wrote-.
I just said that the Hawkins girl's head was severed and taken up the road about.
Twenty-five to fifty yards.
And buried in a location about ten yards west of the road.
On a rocky hillside.

31 Summers is about how long he has been recording music. 31 Summers showcases his lyrical ability and lyrical skills. These lyrical skills of his have definitely improved very much.

Brotha Lynch Hung was born in the summer. He’s been here every summer. Niggas don't wanna get it. He is harder then penetentiary steel. You’re fuckin' with a psycho nigga. So you had better run. You met a lot of rappers? Well, none of them are like Brotha Lynch Hung. Brotha Lynch Hung ripped the rap game sorta like Ice-T. He has been in the rap game for 31 years. Put me in a circle of rappers and he’ll handle business.

Brotha Lynch Hung stay busy eatin' up human beings and you can see that happening. He will chop you up to little meatlets. Human meat in a crock pot is delicacy to him. Seasoning salt is what he put on human meat. He is a genius at makin red meat. Ripping the guts out of niggas before he replenishes.

These lyrics showcase his lyrical ability and lyrical skills.

[Verse 2]
Shittin' on you niggas like diarrhea, don’t try and see him
I'm busy eatin' up human beings and you can see it
You could be it, that nigga that nigga you see me eatin'
Hop in a circle and I’ll chop you up to little meatlets
Yes, grr, gun in the dresser, my pleasure
Human meat in a crock pot, that's my treasure
Put the seasonin' salt, I don't have to measure
Get your fuckin' hands out the pot, nigga, you better
I'm a genius at makin' em eat red meat
Knee-deep in it, for each ten-inch, you'll get a heat lift
Facelift, I'm Jason, put a leak in it
A lot of blood on the ground and you gon' sleep in it
All niggas is dyin' before he finish
Rip the guts out of niggas before I replenish
Who's next? Give 'em a suplex
Take over his duplex and give her the new sex

Running Back delves into how Brotha Lynch Hung keeping living in the past by relapsing into old memories of his. The song is an instant classic and a highlight for this EP.

Something is wrong. Lynch is stuck in his past and he is about to relapse. He kept running back to you. He tried to refrain but your nectar's so sweet and savory to him.

He used to shoot at ’em with the homies out of the 64 droptop Cadillac. Didn't ever leave a witness. So nobody was no calling the cops. Lynch had a knot in his pocket and was ready to rock. Dino was in the back seat and G-Smoove in the cockpit.

I got it locked, niggas about to need 'em a locksmith. They knew they couldn't fuck with him, They just wanted to talk shit about Lynch. Lynch hit them right in the breadbasket. Somebody better had get a casket. He is toxic and poisonous. Smokin' on in the corner like a black Al Capone. Higher than Michael Irvin. In this past memory of his, he was 30 thinking back to when he was 20. He was not thinking about the money, that's funny

Back in the day he used to cut people up, gut them, and then wrap them up. Put their lyrics in a bag, get a lighter, and light it up. He caught the bus just to go to your school as he was a nut. Lynch was all about the rapping. His niggas were wanted, but he wasn't married to the music. However he had an engagement coming up.

So he’s gotta find the rappers I want and tie them up until they sign the dotted line and then battle him for the cash. Lynch used to let them rap and eat them up with rhymes lyrically. Then he puts them into a dark black sack to be shipped off. Rappers in a circle like meat in a meat truck. It reminds Lynch of a barbeque pit when it lights up. After he eats every rapper in the place and night's up.

You can hear drill beats on Running. The production is lit. However the beats and style sound mainstream. Why does Lynch's music sound like everyone else's? It is sad to see Lynch fall into modernization. This upsets longtime BLH fans.

Lynch don't know where he’s going. But he is running far away. He’ll go far and keep on runnin. He says, “I don't know where I'm goin' but I'm runnin’.”

Lynch is behind the liquor store across the street from a gas station. He seems to have hit a police car. Police are still out there. All this happens during the interlude right after the very beginning.

[Interlude]
Hello?
Hey, did you see 'em out there?
The police, did you see the police out there?
Was I the one that hit that damn car?
Damn
They still out there?
Shit, I'm behind the liquor store
'Cross the street
Behind the gas station

Lynch was drinking and driving as he was so damn fucked up. He hopped out the ride and left the strap in the trunk. He was smoking a blunt and stressing. So he will call for an Uber ride and then hit the homies. He was good for the night as he had $100 dollars in his pocket. People were looking for him. Lynch makes reference to people looking for him with these lyrics. “I know they lookin' for me, I was good for the fight” It was 12 o'clock at night and he is already missing his wife. His homies ain't pickin' up. He is nowhere in sight.

Lynch call his wife. The police are still there across the street from a gas station. Here is what he said in the conversation with his wife.

[Interlude]
Hello?
Hey, baby, you still there?
The police still there?
They was gon' do what?
You fuckin' serious?
Who told you that?
She's always in my motherfuckin' business, man
I'ma just keep runnin’.

He was running with his eyes closed as fast as you call it. Lynch was a young lethargic alcoholic with half a pack of cigarettes in his pocket. He arrives home and comes through the back door. His wife gave him something to rock with which is a sack. He asks his wife, "Baby, where you think I can go?"She didn't know. Lynch put the gun in the trench coat and then gave his wife a kiss. Then he’s hittin' the cut.

Sicc Sence explores Brotha Lynch Hung’s sick sense. He has a sicc sense. Several references to cannibalism are made during the song. Many fans give this song favorable praise because the production is fire and hard beats. The samples used in this song came video games such as Final Fantasy 7 and Temple of Ancients.

Somebody told his mom he had been taking all her pills. He was running around the room trying to get a fix and a buzz to get high. That's how he kills. He doesn't give a fuck when he’s in the truck. He puts humans in a pot to cook and then eats them. Now he never gets caught though. Lynch comes harder than John Holmes. A cyclone and typhoon in the right mood.

These lyrics showcase his ability and talent.

If you ever seen a nigga get hit twenty-four times in the back room
Click-clack, boom, I'ma get a nigga hot, though
For the cheese and the nachos, shout out to all my vatos
And my senorita, I singed the meter, I'm never beat up in this
Sometimes niggas think that everybody gonna get famous
Some motherfuckers ain't, though, some niggas ain't got it
Some niggas try hard for years and never put out the product
I got a sicc sense

Everybody like, "Damn, nigga, why you stay gone so long?" He was tryna get money. At point he didn't even have a home. He was homeless. At that time he was living in hotels and drinking everything out the fridge. Not knowing what would happen next. It was that bad. He would spend $10,000 dollars month (ten grand) just to have shelter. Although he still spends 10 grand a month on rent. He was so sick in the head to where he felt had to feel Helter Skelter. It was during this time he was real broke and real mad. He felt ready enough to put on a black coat, run in the house, and cut your throat. Put a gun in your mouth. Commence to killing. Lynch smells dope. He’s got a sicc sense.

What’s interesting about Deliver is Lynch’s lyrical skill and ability to just rap in one verse singlehandedly. The entire song showcases his lyrical ability despite only being a minute long. Deliver is a highlight for this EP.

[Verse]
Ahh
I rap poisonous, I sent him his liver (Here you go)
Fill you up with rat poisonous, I'm venomous when I
Run up in 'em, put the gun up in 'em, deliver his dinner
It was liver and intestines, I'm doo-dooin' on your vest, yeah
Sittin' on the records and shittin' on niggas records
When I spit, my veins pop out, it's like my neck hurt (What you doin'?)
I'm playin' Monopoly, you niggas playin' checkers
Better start rappin' better before I put one in your sweater
You don't wanna get the chokehold
You sound like you been swallowin' cum, listen at your vocals
I'm sellin' hella records, nigga, you doin' all them broke shows
So nobody came, you couldn't even hire the po-po
You local, nigga, I get all around the US
I spit that shit that'll make you have to wear two vests, I'm a cool mess
Grr, my verses give you throat cancer 'cause of what I wrote and some
I'm Charlie Manson
Grr

Raw is a song where Brotha Lynch Hung spits that raw shit with real lyrics. He don't be talkin' that bullshit. Him and Crooked I are raw.

The Torment EP ends with an announcer interrupting this release to bring us an important message. We interrupt our program to bring you this important message. Brotha Lynch Hung tells us, “Don't trip nigga. I’ll be back.” He lets us know that he will be back soon. This is a sign of all great things to come and what you can expect to hear from him in the near future undoubtedly.

I rate this EP 3/5***.
