Some history of Hirsh Creek School of Austin, Texas explored.

Hirsh Creek School is one of the long forgotten schools of Travis County and Austin. Not much history is known about this school as not much the history has been preserved. Hirsh Creek School operated as a rural school from 1881 to 1901.

Hirsh Creek School first opened in a one-room log cabin in 1881 in the Hudson Bend community of Austin, Texas. Hirsh Creek School was aslo known as Hurst Creek School and Hirsch Creek School What was once a one-room schoolhouse was later rebranded into a two-room schoolhouse by the end of the 19th century.

Hirsh Creek School was never a district school nor did the Hudson Bend community have its own school district as several other communities around had their own school districts at that time. Now Hirsh Creek School was part of the Lone Ives School District and Bee Cave School District. However Lone Ives School District operated Hirsh Creek School from 1889 to 1901.

Hudson Bend School and Hirsh Creek School were consolidated into Teck School by the Teck Common School District in 1901. This led Hirsh Creek School to close down immediately.
