This is Michael Mixerr. Today I will review Blacker The Berry Sweeter The Juice! by Born Soul from ATX (Austin, Texas). This is a bit more R&B/Soul than from The Beginning album. Blacker The Berry Sweeter The Juice! was released on Born Soul Productions and Musik Innovator in 2001. This album has a more dark mood than the debut. This is dark mixed with soul, R&B, and club music.
Black Berry Intro reminds of the first bridge to Atomic Dog by George Clinton. Night Life, Let's Dance, That Bounce, and Let The Music Play are club tracks. Optimistic, Regulation, Legal Pimpin, and Wegowayback are lyrical freestyle tracks.
They Not Ready is about how people are not ready for Born Soul. Ya'll muthafuckaz ain't ready for this! Whah Chu Talkin' Bout is a soulful southern club anthem. Basically it is club music. Ya'll Don't Know Me is a track towards all the haters out there. As I said before, Night Life, Let's Dance, That Bounce, and Let The Music Play are club tracks. Salsa & Cheese has a Spanish flavor to it. So does I'm Different! Coast To Coast samples Don't Stop The Music. Let The Music Play has a song sample of the same name by The Drifters.
I rate this album, Blacker The Berry Sweeter The Juice!, 4/5****.
