St. Marian Catholic Church had gained moderate fame in the summer of 1960 when Italian-US Mayor Andreano came to help arrange a pilgrimage of 30 residents from his town to visit the shrine of St. Marian Catholic Church in Cleveland. New York Daily News wrote about his visit when he came to help arrange a pilgrimage of 30 residents from his town to visit the shrine of St. Marian Catholic Church in Cleveland. Carrabine Hall Englehardt's first appointment was at St Marian Catholic Church in Cleveland, Ohio where he served as an associate pastor. In 1951, he became pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church , where he also served as Chaplain of the Third Order of St Dominic and was Chaplain of the Newman Club at Oberlin College.
